2000 year old quotes from Cicero seem to describe the US

Type of Content: Article Marcus Tullius Cicero (Rome 106 -43BC) “The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.” “By doubting we all come at truth.” “Liberty is rendered even more precious by the recollection of servitude.” “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.” “A bureaucrat is the most despicable of men, though he is needed as vultures are needed, but one hardly admires vultures whom bureaucrats so strangely resemble. I have yet to meet a bureaucrat who was not petty, dull, almost witless, crafty or stupid, an oppressor or a thief, a holder of little authority in which he delights, as a boy delights in possessing a vicious dog. Who can trust such creatures?” “The more laws, the less justice.” “Freedom suppressed and again regained bites with keener fangs than freedom never endangered.”

Cicero is as right now about the US as he was then about Rome. For some reason it seems so impossible to change the state of affairs today, silent acquiesence is just so easy. I can't even get the kind of milk I want, for god's sake, without a federal agent shutting down the Amish farmer who milked a cow (that wasn't treated with some insidious and toxic bullsht) and sold me the stuff straight from the udder. America has serious issues, and it goes all the way down.
is that the Holy Roman Empire is making a return
with the Pope blessing the flag of the UN, and the UN implementing its world gov't
it seems like we are seeing a comeback on a grand scale
this ties in with your comparison of our current state to Rome,
I have been noticing the similarities in culture for a while.
