Type of Content: Video In this video, Newt Gingrich finally tells the general msm watching public that Christopher Dodd and Barrak Obama were the top two recipients of lobbying money from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. O'Reilly calls out Barney Frank for pushing poor people into housing they couldn't afford. Gingrich explains that overextending people as liberals did is not a good thing, but Republicans went along with it to avoid looking uncompassionate for not wanting to help poor people to have homes. He also says he is appalled that Christopher Dodd is being allowed to write the current bailout legislation. Gingrich says that he's embarrassed to have President Bush and Sec. Paulson coming to the taxpayers for $700 billion with no strings attached and no accountability. He says that it is embarrassing to fiscal conservatives and anyone who believes in limited government and is indefensible. Why weren't they saying this before the $300 billion dollar mortgage bailout bill a couple months ago that Dodd and Frank allowed Bank of America(another major campaign contributor and purchaser of Countrywide's bad mortgages) to write (which ultimately also ended up including a blank check to Paulson for Fannie/Freddie)? Combined with the current $700 billion dollar bill we are talking about $1 Trillion to buy up bad mortgages from the greedy/irresponsible lenders and borrowers with taxpayer money. That doesn't even include the bailouts of Fannie/Freddie/Bear Stearns/AIG/Automakers/"stimulus" packages etc. When will it end? We must keep calling Congress and telling them NO BAILOUTS on Monday and Tuesday before they pass this thing. Then, after they pass it, we need to vote them all out in November! Read »
