Ron Paul has stood courageously against the current American support of foreign intervention and military aid around the world. Such policies not only have spelled economic disaster for the USA but also has resulted in the deaths of thousands to millions of innocent civilians, men, women, and children. He also opposes sanctions that have caused governments and tyrants control of food supply and other leveraging tools. His non-interventionist foreign policy is not only a return to the founders principles and a road map for the American people but is a beacon for the world to follow as an example of both friendships and peace. For these reasons I encourage the nomination of Ron Paul for the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize.

En Passant
Perhaps the most obscure and least used moves in Chess is called En Passant. It can only occur when a player exercises his option to move his pawn two squares on its initial movement. When this happens, the opposing player has the option to ta

I agree great idea

But i have no clue whatsoever on who or how one gets nominated. I always thought the guy who funded the nobel prize was himself atoning for creating some serious mischief (or weapons technology or something?) and a committee of people reviews major events and chooses among worthy options?? I could be totally clueless.

You know, google is our friend. Let us find out.

try this

http://nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/nominators.html

The Nobel Peace Prize
The right to submit proposals for the Nobel Peace Prize shall, by statute, be enjoyed by:

1. Members of national assemblies and governments of states;
2. Members of international courts;
3. University rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes;
4. Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
5. Board members of organizations who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
6. Active and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee; (proposals by members of the Committee to be submitted no later than at the first meeting of the Committee after February 1) and
7. Former advisers appointed by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.

The Nobel Peace Prize may also be awarded to institutions and associations.

Do we have any of these people accessible - im sure one of us has a cool college professor or something willing to submit a nomination for the good doctor.

bad idea

The Nobel Peace Prize has lost its credibility - especially since they last year gave it to the clown Al Gore.

U Serious?

You know, Faux news has lost all credibility (if it ever had any?) but Dr Paul still participated in the debate with them. This doesn't detract from Dr Paul in any fashion. The free-media/attention that would go along with a nobel peace prize nomination could do a lot of good. Its likely a super-long shot with little to no chance of success of winning, but you never know. Just being nominated, or rumored to be a nominee, in and of itself, could do a lot of good. And besides Al Gore, they have nominated much much worse. Such as: Kofi Annan, Yasser Arafat, Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, etc...

What harm could possibly come from being nominated? What benefits? Do the benefits outweigh the negatives? I would say most emphatically yes.
