While there are many attempts to divide us. Let those divisions leave us. As we, the Liberty Lovers unite, Let us not forget that all is lost should the blanket of tyranny envelope us into darkness. Now is the time that the petty issues be thrown into irrelevance and the common bondage of Liberty be our guiding light. May we remember that we that love Liberty are in the minority and that shall we prevail it will be by joining hands and showing our strength together. In the minds of us, we have many different views on various positions. Now is not the time to debate them, but rather now is the time we unite to secure the right to debate them at a later time. Our civil liberties are under attack, our very existence as individuals has come under fire and our future is at stake. May our prosterity look back and say we secured their present and may we be remembered as the generation that overcame all obstacles to bring about real change. Change that not only we can believe in, but that is real. In this time of great crisis, may we not divide but rather unite. I ask of many Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, and Greens to become one in the defense of our very existence to voice our opinion and debate their various topics in which we might differ not now but at a later time. Liberty is what we must come together on in this very treacherous time. We did not come upon this monsterous situation by mistake, but rather through apathy. May we continue to educate each other and may we unite to be the greater than any force of despotism that has so entrenched themselves into our government. We have it upon ourselves the good faith and great strength of our hearts and minds. Times in these perilous adventures shall not be easy. We may expeirience many defeats before any sucess, but never lose your eye upon the prize of that sacred stone of Liberty. If we do not waiver, we shall not fail.

"May our prosperity look back and say we secured their present and may we be remembered as the generation that overcame all obstacles to bring about real change." Posterity in place of prosperity?
I like the theme. We do have to work together and bring more people into the movement otherwise we shall have neither the resources or the numbers to implement the change we think needs to be carried out. The liberty movement having a big-tent is basically a necessity at this point - unless we think we have sufficient numbers to be picky and exclude? I don't. Hopefully that day will come - but in the meantime - so long as we don't sacrifice principle, we should be looking to expand and to work across the aisle as it were to whomever is willing to stand with us. We can always use hand sanitizers after the hand holding is over :)
I have to respectfully disagree with the above.
If it requires an education of the filthy masses, then that's what it'll take and it's a long term process. However, as soon as we start reaching across the aisle in order to achieve some of what is good while allowing some of what is bad, we're on a road to becoming the same-ol-same-ol in politics. Our side has disagreements, but it is much more pure a philosophical and defined movement than the mainstream political parties.
The paradox is that mainstream politicians are so much more capable in maneuvering through the dirty political process. They are good at what they do, namely taking money that isn't theirs and feeding their own wretched system that they've created. They sign their own checks, and that's a tough system to overcome.
To convince a new generation that our political "leaders" should serve us (A) and work towards diminishing their own power (B) requires a herculean effort! Power corrupts, unless it's Dr. Paul or somebody of similar integrity.
and I like the message of this piece,
however, I think passing the time with debate while we figure out what to do and how to implement our strategies is as good a use of time as anything else
Besides, it helps us to figure out what it is we stand for
But in the end, it's simply rhetoric. I mean that with all respect.
Of the groups you mention, there are very real differences between them, and they will not unite as long as those major differences exist. And the two-headed, Republican and Democrat State will use those divisions to maintain their power.
And even when a loyal Conservative Republican can honestly see that duopoly, can recognize that the Republicans in DC are not really conservative at all but bloated-big government authoritarians, they will still stand by their party because they disagree so vehemently with the Democrats. The Greens will not vote for Ron Paul because his pro-market, anti-anthrogenic Global Warming views are an abomination to them. Some liberal Democrats may see that they are being played as Nancy Pelosi and crew continue funding the war for continued political gain instead of standing their ground, but they will still vote for more Democrats because they disagree so severely with the Republicans. Libertarians are like the neo-proverbial Herd of Cats, God Bless them. The Constitutionalists are a wonderful crew, but unfortunately a dying breed.
Most liberty-minded people will not waiver in their beliefs, it has been my experience. But a rallying cry is not enough. I'm becoming more and more convinced that a catastrophe of some sort (probably created by the Fed) is necessary for people to wake up. Even then, a large group of Americans will look to our "leaders" to get us out, as they did with the atrocious FDR.
Hate to sound like a pessimist. ;)
