After watching the debacle play out on the House and Senate floor in regards to the financial crisis, I saw that the government is intervening and is trying to nationalize the banking and financial system and markets as we know it. This is scary.
The debate must go on.
But if you do look at where we get our information from, and the narrow scope for which it is, it is disheartening. We have all seen, if you are paying attention, how this election has played out thus far.
It is scary when the government takes a bold and hostile move allowing the Fed to hold a gun at the head of the American public in order to nationalize the markets. It is scary when the FCC has also tried allowing the further narrowing of ownership of the media, some of which is state owned propoganda. At least you can learn from history and you can examine the moment, as Fascist as it is.
I am glad that Jay Inslee (D) 1st Congressional District in WA was outspoken about the FCC at that time, and likewise, I am proud he voted NO the other day. The government is making unwarrranted moves on freedom and at least there are people standing up against it.
