Why are we so keen to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? We are making real progress against the ideology of radical Islamism, and the terrorists that believe in it. Isn't it in our best interest to keep up the fight?

I predict I'm going to get about a -17 rating from you guys on this. But please read the article anyway, and tell me what you think.

The war on terror is nothing

The war on terror is nothing more then preemptive strikes designated at false flag operations devised at one point of control and are developed to keep you in total fear of debt, security and what ever else they can think of too throw across your plate and change shift your augmentative state into war. Because war is big business and they cannot make enough money or take enough cherished holy land without large amounts of human sacrifice, it wouldn't be despite to do that now would it? Soon they will try and rejoice with another so called terror attempt at the last bit of straggling freedoms we have left in this country before it shifts into a democratize socialistic system in slavery of debt and control over liberties in light of lost freedoms for security. Real mouthful of a soundbite there!

And I'm not talking about your social security they all ready have you by the balls with that. Feeling flushed yet? if not reach back and jingle the handle a bit, you get the idea.

Sad to say the deal with Georgia and Russia is far from anything but US supported/funded genocide. And now we have issues with other countries? Civilian deaths ? we are becoming the worlds most hated from the worlds most adorned!

What is interesting

and amusing about the way this story is being played out in the media is the fact that they were all so quick to claim this is about oil.... I can't help but laugh.
Especially that jackass Glenn Beck... ok Glenn lets talk Iraq.

You're looking at the wrong question.

Claire you are focusing on the question of "can we win the war?" But the more fundamental question is "should we fight the war?" After 911 all American were rightfully outraged and we wanted to kill whoever was involved in it. But the thing is Iraq was not involved in it, and they did not have weapons of mass destruction either. You don't have to take my word for it. You can watch president Bush say it at;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_A77N5WKWM&eurl=http://www.prisonplanet....

We also know from the 911 report that none of the hijackers was even from Iraq. Most of them were from Saudi Arabia. And Bin Laden was from Saudi Arabia. But we haven't done anything to Saudi Arabia and Bin Laden remains free. So what we have done is attack and bring terrible destruction to a nation that did nothing to us. And at the same time we have done nothing to the nation whose fingerprints are all over 911. How does that make sense?

BTW Some folks today claim we could have won the Vietnam war if we had just stuck with it a little longer. But during the war the Johnson administration and later the Nixon administration were constantly making the claim that we were making progress and we would win. That just was not true.

We lost 57,000 young Americans trying to win the war. God only knows how many more were maimed, disfigured or blinded. And we spent hundreds of billions of dollars. And yet we did not win. And why did we fight it? The incident that really kicked off the war was the Golf of Tonkin incident. Vietnamese ships allegedly fired at American military ships in neutral waters. So that was the incident that led to so much destruction. But many years after the war ended, Robert McNamara who was Secretary of Defense at the time admitted that it never happened! Also during the war we were told that if we didn't win then all of Asia would fall to communism like a string of dominoes and soon the Viet cong would be attacking California. Well that didn't happen either. So all of that horrible destruction was the result of government lies. Was it worth it?

Is it worth it today to devastate a country that did nothing to us?

Where I am at now

Hi David S,

When I posted this article over a month ago, we were in Iraq at the behest of their democratically elected government, helping to maintain security as much as possible until their own forces could take over. Since then, security in Iraq has improved, their prime minister has asked us to leave, and I think we have no business staying there anymore.

In Afghanistan, we are still at war with the Taliban because they are still harboring the Al Quaeda operatives responsible for 9/11. If we can continue to go after Al Quaeda without being involved in an all out war, we should do so. I'm just not sure if it is possible, and I don't think we should give up trying to track down those who were responsible for the attacks on 9/11.

Post WW2 we continued to want to protect parts of Europe, Asia and the middle East from Soviet incursions, this was seen to be vital for our own national security. But you have a point. Cuban missiles were a very real threat to us, the Vietcong-- not so much. We should have known which battles to pick.

I think we should leave Iraq, close down our bases in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and continue to pursue Al Quaeda in Afghanistan (and Pakistan if they go there) as unobtrusively as possible. We should not be in the business of regime change, or even of helping other countries fight their own battles.

Many people here think that if we adopt a non-interventionist policies there will be no reason for anyone to want to attack us and we will be safe again. I don't believe this, but I do think there isn't sufficient evidence that what we have been doing until now has made us any safer. Given that this unproven foreign policy of ours has been very expensive to us, and intrusive to others, I think we should try non-intervention for one presidential term, and see if we are indeed safer as a result. If we are, we should continue with non-intervention. If it becomes clear that this policy has made us less safe, however, we should try to determine what we need to do to protect ourselves.

Claire Posted by Claire on Thu, 07/31/2008 - 2:06pm
not true!

Your argument is fallacious. The great wars of the 20th and 21st centuries have a lot to do with stupid US policy. If Wilson hadn't been so arrogant and greedy, there wouldn't have been a WWI. WWII was blowback from WWI. The Japanese sued in US federal court for peace, but the feds wouldn't accept it-they wanted more war.

You are right that the Middle East occupation should end. You are wrong that the Feds should continue hunting taliban in the same manner as they have. Read about how Thomas Jefferson defeated the Pirates of Tripoli and you'll understand how it's done RIGHT.

Methinks you have a lot of history and economics to learn! Go read all the books in the mises institute's library.

(Ben Heine © Cartoons)
Following are quoted texts and my comments..

“He was a young boy playing with his friends. How could he threaten the soldiers?” he said. “They’re just kids who saw a march against the fence and joined in. To come back dead and without a head shows the cruelty of the soldiers.”

But why kill the kid?

Mussa’s 10-year-old friends said they were trying to remove barbed wire placed by the army when a jeep arrived and forces started to fire.

Simple enough explanation…

“Suddenly, we saw the martyr falling and one bullet in his head,” said Mussa’s friend Ahmed Saadat. He admitted that the children then started hurling stones at the forces, with one of them hitting a police officer in the head.

How dare they!!!

Just remember, the bullet that killed this 11 year old boy was a gift from the United States government….

More important than story is our need to behave civilly as we comment to thse articles - show no anger - do not besmirch Israel in anyway. Remeber is only Israelis pulling the triggers and getting paid by US arms dealers - it’s the people paying for the genocide and not the people directly responsible.

Israelis have been through a lot - imagine waking everyday to the rutty rot from popping Arab corpses that you were victimized into accepting payment to murder - it wouldn’t be your falt - your the eternal victim - instead - it the fault of those forcing you to accept payment and endure the smells of what you’ve been paid to do.

Will it ever end - the poor poor overly tribulate-d New Jersey and Russian new comers and wondrous progeny of the White Abraham that have been forced to endure the smells of the dead they were paid to kill. Don’t take it out on them - they are without guilt - it everybody else’s fault - they are weak - free shekels does that to the children of the White Abraham.

So be respectful - and don’t blame Israelis for doing the same thing you would do if American Arms dealers were paying you 10 Billion a year.

Those friends who threw stones at the soldiers? Well three of them were wounded when Isreali soldiers shot them while they were attending Mussa’s funeral.

Sorry Claire, but it looks like we've lost the "war on terror"..

We Are At The Edge Of The Abyss

The Rense website has posted an article out of Russia that everyone needs to read, comprehend and heed.

No sooner than this article was announced out of Russia and Iran than Bush calls a press conference and lifts the executive ban on offshore drilling. There is also a very good possibility that such an act by George W Bush was an "unofficial announcement of defeat". I think the US just lost the entire debate regarding the oil and gas out of the entire Caspian Basin region. If you do not know what that means, see the other article I have on Rense titled "The Pyrrhic Victory of The Great Decider".

Matters are now at the edge of the abyss as to the pipedream Neocon plans out of DC, London and Israel to attack Iran.

TEHRAN, July 13 (RIA Novosti) -- Russian energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP] and Iran's Ministry of Petroleum will sign on Sunday a memorandum of cooperation in the oil and gas sphere, an Iranian deputy oil minister said.

"Interaction between Iran and Russia in all spheres and especially in the energy sphere is very wide. We expect to further broaden this cooperation in the future," Hossein Noghrehkar Shirazi said.

Shirazi said a series of discussions would precede the signing of the cooperation memorandum.

Iran ranks fourth in terms of crude reserves after Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait, as well as fourth in terms of oil production after Saudi Arabia, the United States and Russia. Iran's proven gas reserves total more than 28 trillion cubic meters.

http://en.rian.ru/world/20080713/113855321.html

Make no mistakes, an attack on Iran will now be viewed as an attack on Russia's vital interests.

It is already viewed as vital to the energy interests of China because Iran is supplying oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to China under a long-term, $400 billion contract.

We can thank Bush, Cheney, the Neocons, the lunatics out of DC, Tel Aviv and London for totally botching and losing their Global War on Terror, which is nothing more than a "shield" for them to hide their Grand Chessboard scheme of dominating world energy supplies.

If you refer back to "The Pyrrhic Victory of The Great Decider" you can clearly see that the means for routing Iranian natural gas into Russia and Europe is already in place. Bridas Corporation is already supplying Iranian natural gas into Russia and Europe, while Bush and Blair delivered nothing but hot air, mayhem and idle promises. There have already been announcements that those pipeline routes will be increased in capacity.

Russia has an air wing of their most advanced fighter jets [Sukhoi Su-30] parked in Yerevan Armenia right now and Mig29 fighters.
That is Mount Ararat mentioned in the Bible in the background.
This photo below is a Russian jet fighter positioned just north of Iran.

http://www.rense.com/general82/abyss.htm

The "Global War on Terror" aka "Project for a New American Century" aka "The Global Dominance Project" appears to be at a stalemate.

The real threat behind the GWOT is not the third world arabs with boxcutters, it's the rising superpowers Russia and China and the geniuses in Washington are leading us into a very dangerous confrontation with those nations if they attack Iran. They have real weapons not just boxcutters!!

Does the USA really need a confrontation with Russia and China when it's economy is in the middle of a meltdown?

The Rense website is malarky

An example of Rense News:
http://rensewatch.blogspot.com/
Monica Lewinsky... an Israeli Agent? Only at Rense.com
There is, at the moment, on the front page of the Rense website, a one-sided "article" by someone named Mark Glenn that takes aim directly at Israel for all of the various "crimes and misdemeanors" that Israel has perpetrated against the United States.

Contained within that article, amongst all of the other clangers, is this colossal absurdity, which is demonstrative of the kind of "independent journalism" that Jeff Rense promotes:

"For blackmailing President Clinton through one of your intelligence agents, Monica Lewinsky, in order to prevent a coherent peace program from being pushed forward between yourself and the Palestinian people that you have brutalized and murdered for the last 50 years, we bless thee."

That's right, folks - Monica Lewinsky was an Israeli intelligence operative who had oral sex with Bill Clinton in order to blackmail him, and prevent him from pushing through a coherent peace program (never mind that Clinton was the best friend the Palestinians have ever had in the White House, and that the Oslo Accords were as good as a deal is ever going to get).

Only at Rense.

Ummmmmm, methinks our pal miggy here is a tad too egotistical for his own knowledge.

Israel/Palestine is far more complicated than just a bunch of Jews Oppressing a bunch of Arabs. There is the other side of the coin, too. Young angry Arabs trying to kill those icky Jews...

If you take two people whose families have been killing each other for centuries and put them in a room, and give one of them a stick and a shield and the other one a club and a helmit, you will get an idea what is really transpiring in Israel.

And once again, it is religion and ethnic identity that is the number one cause, neither of which are even logical or valid rational human constructs.

Sometime's I think I'm too hard on you Claire...

I have to remind myself that it's not your fault, you just don't know any better than what the mainstream media has led you to believe. You're just naive, not evil...

I hope our next president (most likely Obama) will give it a try, because I really want to see if it works, if it will make us safer. I hope he does, and I hope it works.

You still don't understand that these wars are not about making anybody safer or protecting America from terrorists. It's about empire building, it's about gaining access to natural resources, it's about global dominance strategy.

Those in power tell you and the rest of the sheeple that it's about nipping terrorism in the bud but in their own documents that anybody can read themselves they talk about military dominance and ensuring America's global dominance for a new American century by securing the Middle East (Iraq and Iran) and Central Asia (Afghanistan).

Bush doesn't give a damn about the terrorists. He's said so himself when he said he doesn't spend much time thinking about Osama Bin Laden and yet has launched to invasions of sovereign notions supposedly under the pretext of fighting terrorism. It's just a lie and not a very good one at that.

When will naive people like you realize this? It's very simple, all you have to do is read their own writings. Until you bother to do that then there is really not point discussing these issues with you. You're still at the kindergarten level when the rest of us are in the sixth grade.

Ibrahim is still in diapers...

This is the most important thing to understanding the Bush foreign policy (written by the people that created and executed Bush's foreign policy, Cheney, Rummie, Libby, Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith, etc etc..):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_a_new_american_century

To think that Obama might "try non-intervention" is kindergarten naive. His foreign policy advisor is Zbigniew Brzezinski and Madeleine Albright. More globalists with the same agenda. Just read their writings...

Posted by Miggy on Wed, 07/16/2008 - 7:47pm
>>To think that Obama might

>>To think that Obama might "try non-intervention" is kindergarten naive.

I realize that. I have read his latest article on the war in Iraq, and I don't hold out a whole lot of hope. But I'm with you anyway, for what it's worth. I'll do what I can to spread awareness about libertarian principles and hope that I can help make a difference that way.

Claire Posted by Claire on Wed, 07/16/2008 - 7:54pm
I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning...

Claire says:

"I hate oppressive ideologies, strongly disapprove of the people who promote them (I don't hate them, because I think anybody is redeemable), and feel a great deal of sympathy for the people they oppress. As for Islam as it is practiced in Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Yemen, among so many other places, it makes me angry to see people's human rights abused in the name of a religion. What kind of hypocritical, twisted freedom movement approves of such things as the subjugation of women, and the killing of apostates?

Do you care about the many victims of Islam, or are they just "so far away physically and culturally that it makes it incredibly funny to think about"?"

Claire, your bias towards Israel is palpable even though Israel is one of the most oppressive human rights abusers in the world. Not to mention the US with it's Guantanomo Bay, secret renditions and torture. Isn't imprisoning people indefinitely without the right of habeas corpus and torturing them somewhat oppressive?

Perhaps it was unfair to

Perhaps it was unfair to compare average Israeli citizens with members of Hamas. I left out the average Palestinian, who, I'm sure, wants the conflict to be over, just as much as anyone else does. And I'm sure Hamas has its counterparts in Israeli society, such as the settlers and other expansionists I have already alluded to. So, sorry for being unfair. Hope this clears it up.

Claire Posted by Claire on Wed, 07/16/2008 - 8:11pm
Have you

Talked to an average Palestinian?

Youre sure ehh? More subjective conjecture. I think Im going back over the "Americans are stupid video", such candor is refreshing.

How are your sure that Hamas has it counterparts in Israeli society?

As far as I know only the inteligence community would have such 'specific' information.

Working at Langley is nice isnt it?

Actually the average Palestinian wants to avenge the death of just about every person they know. How long has this been going on in 'modern' day? 2 generations or so?

As long as the oppressor moves on their land, the only thing that will consume their minds is ridding themselves of the stargated disease.
