I admire the strangebedfellows coalition. I hope that more liberals--such as my older brother --will come to realize that the problems of this country, not the solutions, are rooted in government. It is human nature to covet and desire control; as the saying goes, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We must really understand the roots of these problems lies in the battle of the fundamental issue of mankind, Collectivism versus Individualism. Can an individual do better for him/herself than the government can? We all want safeguards and security, but do we really want other entities mandating how an Individual should run his life? Does government govern absolutely or rather by the consent of the governed? If it is to be it is up to me, that should be our mantra, as free people and as Americans. In past years, many have voted party over principle, but in these dark hours, we need more Americans and less of the Democratic or Republican paradigm. Our time has come. We The People shall govern this great country again--not corporations, lobbyists, or special interests. I am so happy to see so many great grassroots organizations coalescing and working together! If we can unite on our common interests, rather than divide on lesser issues, then we can and will suceed against the staus quo and the establishment. United we shall stand, not as Liberals or Conservatives, Dems or Reps, left or right, but as Americans! The very foundation upon which this country was built is under attack. We must unite and stand for a rule of law. We were promised the Constitution but apparently, those in DC have forgotten it and encroached upon the principles which we were gauranteed. Obama vs McCain is just one attempt to divide. Had this election been Kucinich vs Paul we could be in a great debate. Unfortunately our corporatism has led to impotent media and exclusion of those who seek to hold people accountable to the rule of law. Let us not forget the grave consequences of electing politicians. Let us work together to get true Statesman into office and once there hold them accountable. For too long, our elected officials have been let loose without any constraint or accountability. The time is now for those elected representatives to remember exactly who they represent, you and I. Not lobbyists, corporations, or special interest groups. Let's tear down that wall which divides us.
