It would be nice for the user to able to decide how many entries to be viewable per page in the tabs and other pages. For example, I would like to be able to see all of my sent messages on one page.

In the pull-down-list for uploading content and describing it by category. You should put a category which is related to "speeches" or "congressional debate / speeches" or congress proceedings.
I suggest this because these topics are related to what you are doing and breakig it down by PERSONS can be a great use. Choosing a specific subject may not always work if someone is giving a speech in general covering lots of topics. (Maybe add a category labeled "Political Personalities" might be good? Maybe add a category labeled "Events" could be useful?)
Example: Cynthia McKinney has a great 5-minute video up on her presidential race page where she is grilling Don Rumsfeld. The topics are human trafficking, Loss of trillions of dollars, and military exercises on 9/11. If one wanted to post a link to THAT video, HOW would you categorize it??? Better would be to put it in a category such as "Congressional Hearings" ... which are NOT always single topic issues.
