With the same concept as united we stand, why not get with all the other freedom movement people (or ten of the largest) and combine forces so that it will have more of an impact? The patriots keep throwing their money here and money there and it is spread out too thin to accomplish as much as if we all come together. If we did come together then the money would most definitely be there to get something done. Get Ron Paul to put the word out and it will grow like a grass fire. Surely we can all come together and kick some serious ass instead of fighting individual fires or just trying to educate sheeple on an individual basis.

This way if someone like Joe Banister needs some help he could get help from the big pot instead of a few little ones.

IF WE CAN MANAGE TO ALL COME TOGETHER WE WILL BE MORE POWERFUL THAN THE VILE PEOPLE THAT ARE ATTACKING OUR COUNTRY AND OUR LIBERTIES.

I think it's best for now to stay focused on getting Break the Matrix up and running rather than bringing in new liasons. Things could become scattered quickly.

Remember that the global

Remember that the global elite got together to develop America's Federal Reserve system and our debilitating tax system. Could that have been possible if they remained concerned about their own individual concerns. They saw the potential in that unholy union.

Heh, I just posted a topic

Heh, I just posted a topic on this exact same issue. Apparently this is a popular issue. I think collaboration is key. The failure of the campaign and the failure of similar movements and activism is the failure to work together. If the BTM wants to do something in the future all they should have to do is sit back and watch as the word is passed on to all the Ron Paul sites, the freedom minded facebook groups, meetups, and the many freedom radio stations with word of mouth from members and the mere fact that these things should have people seeing what is going on here every week. Why don't we capitalize more on Youtube, it was effective for Ron Paul? Make partnerships with the leaders of all these sources and make sure that they are repeaters for major things that are happening.

You're right...

Imagine if the People's Front of Judea collaborated with the Judean People's Front? An empire may have been defeated.... :)

Very good suggestion, except...

However, it has been my experience that most websites are seeking 'market space' for themselves. Either the site is hoping to become a viable business one day (like this one, by offering 'new media' in the political realm) or the site is just an extension of someone's ego. In either case, joining forces with other websites is unlikely to happen.

In trying to peddle my America Again! project to several Ron Paul spinoff groups like this one, I have found so far that a national grassroots project like that is not something that most of these websites want to do. There's no upside for the individual websites.

The America Again! project is simple: in all 535 hometowns of the members of the US Congress, you bring your member of Congress home every Independence Day, publicly read a list of the high crimes in which (s)he is conspiring and acquiescing; threaten his/her criminal conviction, State Penitentiary time, and confiscation of all assets unless (s)he agrees to immediately stop violating those portions of the Constitution and to sponsor the specific reform laws that we demand of them.

I call that kicking some serious ass!

But the ownership of this blog -- and the most active posters hereon, whom I would characterise as Libertarian/atheist and thus hardly representative of America -- have been less than enthusiastic about actually changing anything. Far more fun to bitch, moan, and make a commercial media gig out of more of the same!

Sigh...

But don't lose heart, 'custom fabricator'. Stuff has a way of following God's order for humanity one way or the other. As Solomon said in Ecclesiastes, even if every Ron Paul group fails in its self-absorbed task, the outcome will be God's:

The end of a thing is better than its beginning;
The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry,
For anger rests in the bosom of fools.
Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.
(Eccl 7:8-10)

And with delicious irony for the so-called atheist:

Consider the work of God;
For who can make straight what He has made crooked?
In the day of prosperity be joyful,
But in the day of adversity consider:
Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other,
So that man can find out nothing that will come after him.
(Eccl. 7:13-14)

Will BTM become a new media empire? One certainly hopes so, but the odds are strongly against it as long as it does what all other media have tended to do: avoid direct connection with any activism behind its stated principles. There are simply too many flavors of media out there already who are avoiding the real work that must be done, in favor of spinning hot stories for finely-tuned market segments, to which they can then offer targeted advertising. Just too many free flavors, to give any hope of profitability for BTM. Whether it ever makes money, it will never make a difference unless these folks are willing to do the hard things that we all know MUST be done at this hour.

One of those things is building coalitions with other groups; that's a good indicator of whether the mission or the money is really foremost.

But the other thing is this Ron Paul Libertarian gaggle itself. Dr. Paul is right on the money (pardon the pun) on most of the problems/violations of law/government corruption that he's talked about over the years. But his solutions are a different matter: some of them are naive, others are not far-reaching enough, and yet others are 40-50 years too late. The solutions are out there (on the internet, available to anyone who does Google searches) but you must develop a large enough cohort of citizens with a wide enough demographic base to then go to scale in the general population. The Ron Paulites just don't have that yet.

This stems from the very nature of Libertarians, anarchists, atheists, etc -- that make up a surprisingly large (or at least the most vocal) part of the 'Ron Paul Revolution'. In the first place, one need only go back to the Ross Perot candidacy to see the last flash in that pan; same demographic group, and (I predict) the same short legs on the horse. It won't go anywhere.

It's certainly not for want of heart in Dr. Paul himself; but it is only to be expected of libertarians, anarchists, and atheists in any ad hoc huddle with conservatives and Christians -- as soon as the political race is over and their candidate back on the sidelines, the group has no social glue to keep it together. Everyone goes back home, with nothing gained.

The BTM site is billing itself as an up-and-coming political media company. Keep that in mind, and you won't have false hopes for this site. I think it can do great things for its libertarian followers, but one should be realistic: Worldnet Daily is 20 times larger than this site...and as a news and Christian media site, it has yet to make a profit. Since the Christian segment is far, far larger than the atheist and anarchist segment, I'd say BTM has a steep mountain ahead.

No, it simply is not in the nature of these groups to team up with others so that the stated goal might be reached. If you're looking for a more action-oriented Ron Paul spinoff (rather than an aspiring online media website) you need look no farther than Restore the Republic. They may seem to compete with BTM, but the two sites have very different missions; RtheR is devoted to actual grassroots ACTION.

Which, of course, would suggest that the two should form a coaltion, perhaps?

Only God knows.

Not Atheists

Don't forget that those who question orthodox church doctrine, whether it be Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, or Hindu, are not necessarily "atheists." Most of them, in fact, aren't.

I'm traveling again starting tomorrow. Will you be ok until Wednesday night? :)
