There have been many, many court cases decided upholding the fact that police depts. legal responsibility is not to protect individuals but is instead to “keep the peace”. This is just one more instance of using fear to get the populace to accept more loss of freedoms.
That radiation penetrates right through human flesh, and soon there will be radiation poisoning to anyone who is unfortunate enough to be close to that metal detector when it blasts on the people, even gunholders who are in their legal right to carry one for protection. Why invent an potentially carcinogenic device that “halts” non-existent crime? Is that the price we must pay for being a peaceful population minding our own business and tolerating each other, respecting each others rights? It seems to me that the only people violating any laws are the very ones opting to use this invasive technology.
