Well, what can I say? Honestly, until about this time one year ago I truly thought that I was one of just a handful of people left in this country that actually still believed in a Constitutional government. Just by chance I started seeing "Who is Ron Paul" popping up here and there. Being ever the curious one, I Googled Ron Paul and I almost fell out of my chair in surprise! I immediately joined a local MeetUp here in York where I finally found myself home.

Ron Paul has done more than cure my apathy, he has inspired me to become a not-so quiet constitutional activist, even going so far as to run for Delegate in the 19th District. I didn't win, but the experience was worth the time and effort and I plan on more adventures in politics in the coming years.

I have always believed that one day I would have to fight for the independence of our country. It just seemed inevitable. There was always a war of some kind conflict happening, the Cold War, the Drug War, Bosnia, Desert Storm, blah blah blah. I just never thought I would have to fight to wake up my fellow Americans to the truth.

So many people have asked me why I am doing the things that I am doing. It boils down to this:

"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." ~Declaration of Independence

I realized something after a trip to D.C. a while back. If I wasn't going to fight for my rights, then who will? We are all duty bound to fight for the rights of every citizen. If we have the ability to defend those rights given to us by the Constitution then we are obligated to fight for those rights when they are under threat. I have never been a political person nor has anyone in my family, ever. Until this past year I never ran for public office because I honestly never wanted to hold a political seat. Its not that I didn't care, I care a lot. All I wanted was to be left alone to do as I wished without interference from any government body. Now I know better and I have made a tremendous amounts of friends who believe as I believe. I am no longer companionless, and that alone is a powerful thing.
