Visit the "John Wallace for Congress" website. Welcome! My name is John Wallace and I am a Candidate for Congress in New York's 20th Congressional District in 2008. I am currently running for the Republican Party nomination and as an Independent. I have already received the Constitution Party of New York nomination. It has been said that "America has the best Congress that Special Interest Money can buy!" That's why I do do not accept contributions from any Special Interest Groups or Political Action Committees and in The Spirit of '76, I have limited individual contributions to only $76. The American people are tired of the influence that big money has on most politicians because this type of money makes them more beholden to influential donors outside the district than to the residents within the district. I believe that if a candidate for federal office wants to change the current system with respect to receiving large contributions from select donors and special interest groups, the candidate must set the example. In keeping with the "Spirit of '76" when on July 4, 1776, fifty-six (56) brave Americans signed the Declaration of Independence declaring their independence from the chains of servitude to the King of England, I hereby declare my independence from the chains and shackles of special interest money, political action committees, big private donors and lobbyists. In the "Spirit of '76" I am: 1. Limiting the amount received from individual citizens to $76.00, 2. Soliciting donations only in the local district and via the internet., and 3. Refusing to accept contributions from special interest groups, political action committees, big private donors and lobbyists. I believe that America is currently facing the greatest challenges to its sovereignty, freedoms and maybe to it very existence. These challenges are not just coming from the enemies outside of the country, but from those enemies within our country as well. America is the greatest country in the world, but it is not the government that makes this country great, it is the people. My candidacy and the solutions I propose go beyond party affiliations and loyalty. Those who believe in the traditional values and freedoms that made this country great, must unite now before it is too late. Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives, Independents and members of Third Party organizations must hold the good of the country above their individual parties. Let's be united by our major common goals and not be divided by our minor differences. Let's become active in politics and support only those candidates that are honest, ethical, of good moral character, who take no special interest money and who support smaller, less intrusive federal, state and local governments. Together, let us begin the journey that will leave future generations of Americans a legacy of individual freedom and liberty, a first class education system, a clean environment, a strong and sovereign America with an honest, limited government that will offer unlimited opportunities for their future. If we stand together, we can give it to them. Thank you and "God Bless America." John Wallace My Content: My Forum Posts: My 4 Friends: |
