I am am inspired by any initiatives that spawn civic engagement and intelligent dialogue from all points of view, which is why I'm here on Break the Matrix. For the past year I have been living in Nashville, TN working as a contributing, independent producer for the Street Team '08 experiment forged by MTV News, the Knight Foundation, and in association with the Associated Press. I've covered stories about prison privatization, media reform efforts, bloated defense spending, third-party candidacies, soldier/activists against the war, voter disenfranchisement, and many other issues. Prior to that, I was living in Chicago, Illinois for three years where I was directing and producing a documentary exploring a thirty-year history of police torture in some of Chicago's most impoverished minority neighborhoods.
