His libertarian ideals agree with many of my political philosophies, and it was very refreshing getting to listen to a presidential candidate actually talk about economics and lay out on the table what he wanted to do with our country. It's my belief that the government can't be allowed to run people's lives because powerful governments almost always become corrupt, and even if the positive rights (such as health care, social security) given out may seem like a good thing, all they really do is place citizens into a state of constant need, where the government is depended on for livelihood. Once this government becomes corrupt, the people will have a harder time overthrowing it, since they rely on it's many handouts. This sad affair isn't what the founding fathers were thinking of when this nation was born, and we need to work so that our children aren't handed a nation with the same problems.
